I spent 20 years working as a lawyer, first as a solicitor at City law firm, Clyde & Co, and then as the Chairman (and previously Deputy Chairman) of the Jersey Employment & Discrimination Tribunal. I am a CMC registered civil, commercial and workplace mediator and a member of the London School of Mediation faculty.
I am an expert in employment and discrimination law matters and offer practical and bespoke training to HR professionals, senior executives, managers and their teams in both the private and public sectors. I also provide confidential and independent mediation services and am frequently instructed to carry out investigations into disciplinary and grievance issues in the workplace. Many of my tribunal judgments are the current leading cases on particular areas of employment law, including constructive dismissal, redundancy, race and disability discrimination.
I am the Deputy Chairman of the JACS Board and an independent member of the Jersey Employment Forum. I am also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Before I became a lawyer, I was a member of the British Alpine Ski Team, representing Great Britain in downhill and Super-G at two World Junior Championships and at Europa Cup competitions.
